8. STOP PROCRASTINATING AND START TAKING ACTION

One of the most prevalent reasons for failure is procrastination. We've all been there. You have an important project to complete, but you just can't seem to get started for some reason. Instead of getting to work, you find yourself scrolling through social media, cleaning your house, or doing anything else but what you should be doing. If this sounds familiar, then you may be a victim of procrastination.

Procrastination is the number one enemy of productivity. Twenty percent of people are estimated to be chronic Procrastinators, which means they regularly and willingly delay things, even when they know it's in their best interest to take action. So, how can you stop procrastinating and start taking action?

1. Define Your Goal
The first step to taking action is to define your goal. What is it that you want to achieve? Be as specific as possible. Once you have a clear picture of what you want to accomplish, it will be much easier to take the steps necessary to make it happen.

2. Make a Plan
After you have defined your goal, it's time to make a plan. Your plan doesn't have to be some grandiose affair; a simple list of actions will do. Break down your goal into small, manageable steps that you can complete within a reasonable timeframe. Doing this will make the task seem less daunting and increase your likelihood of following through.

3. Set a Deadline
If you're still having trouble getting started, try setting a deadline. A timeline for completing your project will help motivate you to take action and get the job done.

4. Just Do It
Once you have your goal defined, your plan in place, and a deadline set, there is only one thing left to do: take action! No matter how small the step may be, just get started. Once you've taken that first step, the rest will be much easier.

5. Get an Accountability Partner
If you're still struggling to overcome your procrastination habit, consider finding an accountability partner. Your accountability partner could be a friend, family member, or colleague who agrees to check in with you on your progress and hold you accountable for taking action towards your goal. Having someone in your corner who is rooting for your success can be just the motivation you need to overcome procrastination and get things done finally!

Conclusion:
Most fail because they "wait for the 'right time' to begin doing something valuable." Don't wait any longer. There will never be a moment when everything will be "just right." Begin where you are now and use whatever resources you have at your disposal. As you continue, new tools will emerge as discoveries. Don't let procrastination sabotage your success! Use these simple tips to stop putting things off and take action towards your goals today!
